Summing up

Well, David went to the feeding evaluation but I was very disappointed. The evaluation was very thorough. He saw a medical doctor, a nutritionist, a speech therapist and an OT. He was also supposed to see a psychiatrist, but b/c of a snow storm, she wasn't able to make it. The medical doctor said he may have acid reflux, b/c he likes to control the food and eat in small portions, but he is not constipated and does not wake up in the middle of the night. She gave me a prescription for prevacid in case I wanted to try it, but I don't want to start with that b/c I really don't think that is the issue. So because there are really no physical issues (he has no trouble chewing, swallowing, or drinking from a straw)they were giving me mostly nutritional suggestions about what I can give him to eat to increase his calories, but that is not I problem. I can't get him to taste anything, but they really didn't have any suggestions for that. Oh well, I think I just have another very picky eater on my hands (Nico and Daddy being included in that group.
Brandon got his thumb loop and it is totally useless. He rips it off as soon as it is put on b/c it closes with velcro.
They are saying a few more words. David says go now and the other day he actually said Nico. He also says mama.
Brandon says mommy, daddy, go, done, yummy, and wee.
Daddy had his back surgery Feb 11th and has been home from work for the past 2 weeks. He has to go back to work on Monday. But so far his pain is gone so it seems like the surgery was a success. He is not able to be in a sitting position for too long so has spent most of his time in bed. He also is not able to lift anything so I have been a single mother for the past 2 weeks and will be for about the next 4 weeks. Hopefully when he finishes his physical therapy, he will be back to normal activity.
Brandon is going to start his 3 week camp again tomorrow for his left arm, so I am very excited about that. 3 hours a day for 3 weeks.
Last night David was sick from 12-4 in the morning with a fever, throwing up, and a wheezing cough. (Why do these things always happen at night?)Most of the throwing up episodes were in our bed and one in his room on the rug. So 6 outfit changes later (4for him and 2 for me), I was up at 7 with Nico and Brandon, and writing this now totally exhausted. I can't wait for naptime to crawl back into bed. No fever this morning but I gave him tylenol anyway just in case.

Brooke,

I don't know how you can do it but you do. You're an amazing mamma and I hope that you know that. All four of them (I include Nicky in that bunch) are so lucky to have you. You're an incredible woman!
