First Vacation

The boys had their first vacation this past weekend to Atlantic City. We left Friday afternoon and came back Sunday evening. We had so much fun. Nonna and Zia Alie came with us. It was a surprise for Nonna for Mother's Day. We stayed at the Taj in the new towers so the room was beautiful. We walked on the boardwalk, went to the pool (the doctor said the boys could not go in b/c they cannot regulate their temperature well enough yet), went to the steel pier with all the rides, and even did a little gambling. The boys were wonderful and on Saturday night, they slept all through thr night for the first time. I kept waking up waiting for them to cry, but they slept from 10:30pm to 7:30am. I couldn't believe it, but they have not repeated it. But they are very good travellers. They are getting ready for their trip to the Bahamas in August.
Monday, we had Brandon's appointment with the orthopedic doctor and it was very upsetting. He basically told us that it is likely that he will have cerebral palsy, however it is too early to determine it. There are varying degrees. In some children you can't even tell they have CP and other children end up in wheelchairs. As soon as the doctor left the room, I burst out crying. Thank goodness Nicky was with me. So I was very depressed for the rest of the day. But today was better, and I have increased the exercises I do with him. I am just hoping and praying, he has a mild case. The one good thing about CP is that it isn't a debilitating disease. Whatever form he has, it won't get worse.
Today, Nico had his Kindergarten screening, so we were both very excited to go to his future school. Beanie came to watch the boys. I think he did very well and everone seemed very nice, but I can't believe he is going to Kindergarten. Also, we fed the boys rice cereal for the first time today. They seemed to like it and were opening their mouths for the spoon, but they made a huge mess and had to have baths even though it wasn't bath night.
Finally the boys would like to annouce the birth of their new cousin, Olivia Sloan Regan. She was born May 8th at 3:43am after 16 hours of labor. She weighed in at 8lbs7oz, 20" long. She is so gorgeous and mommy Tania did such a great job. Everyone is home and doing well. They can't wait to meet her. They are spending the summer together at Nonna's pool.
